Despite a reduction in sugar beet sowing areas in 2025, Vinnytsia region farmers achieved higher crop yields. This news was announced by the Vinnytsia Regional State Administration press service on January 9, as reported by agronews.ua.

It was noted that the average yield indicator in the region increased by 78 kg/ha compared to the previous year, reaching 480 kg/ha compared to 402 kg/ha in 2024. This allowed for the harvest of over 2.2 million tons of sugar beets.
“The main difficulties of the production season were related to challenging weather conditions. Excessive rainfall complicated the harvesting and delivery of the crop to processing plants. In mid-October, two out of five sugar factories in Vinnytsia temporarily suspended operations due to a shortage of raw materials. Farmers were unable to dig up beets due to prolonged rains and soil waterlogging. After the weather conditions improved, the plants resumed their technological processes,” summarized the press service.
Currently, two sugar factories in Vinnytsia have already completed the sugar production season 2025/26, while three more enterprises continue production. Overall, since the beginning of the production season, Vinnytsia sugar factories have produced 320 thousand tons of sugar.
