In Ukraine, this week there has been a tendency towards an increase in prices for white cabbage. According to the daily monitoring data of the EastFruit project, by the end of December, many producers had sold most of their stocks of this product. In addition, there is almost no cabbage of average and low quality left on the market, as reported by agronews.ua.

Due to the rapid reduction of cabbage stocks on farms, farmers have started to withhold sales of quality products, which has led to price increases this week. This information is confirmed by wholesale companies, noting a general decrease in the supply of vegetables in the market.
As of today, the selling prices for white cabbage in farm households have increased to 3-10 UAH/kg (0.07-0.23 USD/kg), on average 25% more expensive than at the end of the previous working week.
It is worth noting that currently the prices for white cabbage in Ukraine remain on average 82% lower than in the same period last year. At the same time, most market participants do not rule out further price increases for this product and predict an acceleration in price growth as vegetable stocks on farms decrease.
