Ukrainian metallurgical enterprises in January-April 2026 reduced exports of long steel products by 55% compared to the same period in 2025 – to 105.54 thousand tons. This is evidenced by calculations of GMK Center based on the data of the State Customs Service.

36.2% of the total volume of long steel products exports accounted for other bars and rods of carbon steel, without further processing, twisted (UKTZED 7214) – 38.23 thousand tons (-57.8% y/y). Shipments were made to Poland – 21.96 thousand tons, to Moldova – 13.43 thousand tons, to Romania – 2.32 thousand tons.
Ukrainian manufacturers during this period exported 27.87 thousand tons of non-alloy steel wire (UKTZED 7217), which is 37.3% less y/y. The main part of the products was directed to Poland – 6.99 thousand tons. Another 5.72 thousand tons were exported to Germany and 3.35 thousand tons to Moldova.
28.59 thousand tons (-64.7% y/y) of exports accounted for hot-rolled bars and rods made of carbon steel, in coils (UKTZED 7213). Among the main consumers: Poland – 11.64 thousand tons, Lithuania – 4.61 thousand tons, Romania – 9.9 thousand tons.
In April, the export of long steel products amounted to 35.96 thousand tons, which is 38.4% less compared to April 2025, but 26.3% more than the previous month.
Shipments of other bars and rods of carbon steel, without further processing, twisted (UKTZED 7214) amounted to 11.99 thousand tons (-53% y/y; +21.3% m/m), non-alloy steel wire (UKTZED 7217) – 8.62 thousand tons (-21.5% y/y; +15.9% m/m), and hot-rolled bars and rods made of carbon steel, in coils (UKTZED 7213) – 12.3 thousand tons (-35.8% y/y; +47.6% m/m).
Currency revenue from the export of long steel products in January-April decreased by 50.3% y/y to $80.73 million, and in April – by 34.6% y/y and increased by 29.2% m/m to $27.78 million.
