Ukrainian metallurgical companies increased exports of flat rolled products by 6.1% in January-May 2025 compared to the same period in 2024 – to 717.57 thousand tons. This is evidenced by calculations of GMK Center based on the State Customs Service data.

Over 80% of exports account for flat hot-rolled products (UKTZED – 7208) – 599.9 thousand tons, which is 6% more y/y. The main consumers of the products during the period were Poland – 244.26 thousand tons, Bulgaria – 166.8 thousand tons, and Italy – 37.68 thousand tons.
Another 13% of shipments, or 93 thousand tons (+7.4% y/y), accounted for flat cold-rolled products (UKTZED – 7209). The key consumer of this product is Poland – 41.97 thousand tons. Additionally, 13.73 thousand tons were exported to Bulgaria, and 9.96 thousand tons to Italy.
During the period, 24.09 thousand tons of flat rolled products with coating (UKTZED – 7210) were exported, which is 5.3% more y/y. Shipments to Poland amounted to 14.15 thousand tons of the respective products, to Romania – 6.63 thousand tons, and to the Czech Republic – 0.71 thousand tons.
In May, Ukrainian metallurgists exported 163.5 thousand tons of flat rolled products, which is 13.5% more y/y and 35.1% more m/m. Shipments of flat hot-rolled products amounted to 138.34 thousand tons (+17.2% y/y; +33.4% m/m), flat cold-rolled products – 21.41 thousand tons (-4.1% y/y; +62.6% m/m), flat rolled products with coating – 3.71 thousand tons (+5.6% y/y; -3.9% m/m).
Revenue from flat rolled products exports in January-May 2025 decreased by 4.9% y/y to $400.51 million, and in May it increased by 4.7% y/y and 38.9% m/m, reaching $98.06 million.
As reported by GMK Center, in 2024 Ukraine increased exports of flat rolled products by 36.1% compared to 2023 – to 1.63 million tons. Over 80% of deliveries accounted for flat hot-rolled products – 1.363 million tons (+44.7% y/y). Another 12% or 201.71 thousand tons (+0.7% y/y) were flat cold-rolled products.
