In the calendar year 2025, Ukraine exported 463.7 thousand tons of sugar worth $222 million, according to agronews.ua.

73% of the exported volume was directed to the World market, while 27% went to the markets of EU countries (in 2024, this ratio was 60/40% respectively).
The main buyers of Ukrainian sugar in 2025 were:
Lebanon – 15% of exports
Bulgaria – 14%
North Macedonia – 8%
Libya – 7%
Syria – 6%
Turkey – 6%
“In 2025, the industry maintained high export activity, despite a 38% reduction in supply volumes to external markets compared to 2024 when a historical record of sugar exports from Ukraine was set at 746 thousand tons. The key factor in the decrease in export volumes was the introduction of restrictions on the export of Ukrainian sugar to the European Union. As a result, exports to the EU in 2025 decreased by 59% compared to the previous year, amounting to 123 thousand tons,” commented Yana Kavushevska, Head of the Association “Ukrtsukor”.
