There are certain problems with rapeseed plantings due to excessively dry soil, but analysts expect a good harvest worldwide – at the level of 19 million tons, which is 2.2 million tons less than forecasts 2-3 years ago. “Rapeseed plantings in the three main exporters in the world – Canada, Australia, and Ukraine – are decreasing to the lowest level in the last 4 years. This will likely reduce the production of the crop worldwide. Rapeseed stocks will be relatively small, the popularity of the crop is stagnating. We expect that rapeseed prices will not exceed sunflower prices during this year,” noted Thomas Mielke.
