Prices for sunflower in Ukraine last week rose to $742/ton with VAT on CPT Odessa parity terms. The movement is related to local competition among processors for the remaining supply. This was reported by analysts at Spike Brokers.

At the same time, there is a limited number of plants left on the market that continue to process sunflower. A significant portion of the plants have switched to maintenance mode and preparation for the new rapeseed season.
The external market for sunflower oil did not provide strong confirmation for a more aggressive revaluation of the raw material. FOB Northern Europe for July-August is trading around $1,500, while a week earlier the indications for the near month were at $1,510.
For processing, this means that the increase in the purchase price of sunflower has limited room for maneuver without a corresponding expansion of premiums in products. The new sunflower crop is trading at a discount of up to $60, including VAT, and starts at $660, including VAT, delivered to the plant.
