Prices for greenhouse tomatoes have increased in Ukraine

A significant reduction in the supply of greenhouse tomatoes on the Ukrainian market this week allowed sellers to slightly raise prices in this segment. Turkey remains the main supplier of products at this time of year, however, over the past few weeks, the volumes of tomato deliveries from Turkey have slightly decreased, according to agronews.ua.

According to the data of the daily monitoring project, currently greenhouse tomatoes in the wholesale segment on the Ukrainian market are offered in the range of 90-110 UAH/kg (2.09-2.55 USD/kg), which is on average 12% more expensive than at the end of the previous working week. At the same time, experts note that sellers are not daring to raise prices more significantly, considering the rather weak demand from both wholesale companies and retail chains.

It should be noted that currently greenhouse tomatoes in Ukraine are sold on average 10% more expensive than in mid-January 2025. At the same time, many market participants agree that this price situation in this segment is temporary. They do not exclude that already next week tomatoes will start to become cheaper again after the normalization of Turkish product supplies to the Ukrainian market.
