Since the beginning of 2025, the price of bread in Ukraine has increased by 11-15% depending on the type, with monthly price growth ranging from 0.5-2%. Bread and rolls may add another 15-20% to the price in 2026 due to the rising cost of grain, increasing minimum wage, and producers’ expenses, as reported by agronews.ua.

Food products in 2026 will consume a significant portion of Ukrainian families’ budgets, with some continuing to rise in price. Since the start of 2025, bread made from different types of flour has increased by 11-15%, according to scientist Svitlana Cheremisina.
The price increases are as follows:
– Wheat bread from high-grade flour +15.4%;
– Wheat bread from first-grade flour +12.1%;
– Rye bread +11.3%;
– Rolls +9.3%.
Every month, bread prices rise by 0.5-2% depending on the type. The highest increase is seen in wheat bread from high-grade flour at 1.5-2%. Wheat bread from first-grade flour rises by 0.9-1.5% per month, and rye bread by 0.6-1.3%. The price of rolls increases monthly by 0.5-1%.
According to Svitlana Cheremisina’s estimates, if the trend of price increases continues throughout 2026, the following prices can be expected:
– Wheat bread from high-grade flour will cost at least 18-20% more, around 71-73 UAH per kilogram;
– Wheat bread from first-grade flour may increase to 55-57 UAH per kilogram (+15-17%);
– Rye bread will rise in price to 61 UAH per kilogram (+17-20%);
– Rolls will cost 36-37 UAH for 500 grams (+15-17%).
Bread will continue to become more expensive due to the rising cost of grain. According to forecasts from the Institute of Agrarian Economics, wheat could increase in price by an average of 10-15% in 2026.
Factors contributing to the rising cost of bread also include the increase in the minimum wage in 2026, expenses for fuel and raw materials for production, and issues with electricity supply.
