The Department of Agro-Industrial Development and Economic Policy of Zhytomyr Regional State Administration informs about the results of the 2025/2026 harvest collection in Zhytomyr region. This was reported by the press service of Zhytomyr Regional State Administration, agronews.ua writes.

“The agriculture sector of Zhytomyr region specializes in the cultivation of grain crops (wheat, barley, rye, oats, maize for grain, buckwheat), industrial crops (soybeans, sunflowers, rapeseed, sugar beets, hops, hemp), fruit and berry crops (raspberries, strawberries, blackberries, currants). Grain and legume crops prevail in the structure of sown areas of the region, accounting for about 42.3% of all areas, industrial crops cover 35.3%, vegetables and potatoes occupy 10.6%, and forage crops – 11.8%,” the report said.
According to the operational data of the Department, for the 2025 harvest, in all categories of farms in the region, 1107.5 thousand hectares of agricultural crops were sown, which is 7.4 thousand hectares more than in 2024.
As of today, grain and legume crops in all categories of farms in the region have been harvested on an area of 464.4 thousand hectares, which is 93.8% of the planned area, the gross harvest is 2597.4 thousand tons, which is 36.5 thousand tons more than last year for the same period, the average yield is 55.9 c/ha, which is 1.2 c/ha less than in 2024.
Early grain and legume crops have been harvested on an area of 214.2 thousand hectares, which is 100% of the planned area, 885.0 thousand tons of grain have been threshed, which is 79.5 thousand tons more than in 2024, the average yield is 41.3 c/ha, which is at the level of the previous year.
In particular, the following have been harvested:
wheat and triticale – 141.4 thousand hectares (100.0% of the forecast); threshed 642.2 thousand tons, average yield 45.4 c/ha;
barley – 31.2 thousand hectares (100.0% of the forecast); threshed 132.4 thousand tons, yield 42.4 c/ha;
oats – 31.3 thousand hectares (100.0% of the forecast); threshed 77.9 thousand tons, yield 24.9 c/ha;
rye – 6.4 thousand hectares (100.0% of the forecast), threshed 20.6 thousand tons, yield 32.2 c/ha;
peas – 3.8 thousand hectares (100.0% of the forecast). Threshed 11.7 thousand tons, yield 30.8 c/ha.
Late grain crops harvested:
maize for grain on an area of 225.0 thousand hectares, or 88.0% of the forecast, with an average yield of 74.5 c/ha, threshed 1676.3 thousand tons of grain.
buckwheat – 12.3 thousand hectares (100.0% of the forecast), threshed 14.9 thousand tons, with an average yield of 12.1 c/ha;
millet – 5.6 thousand hectares (100.0% of the forecast), gross production is 7.9 thousand tons, yield 14.1 c/ha.
From industrial crops, the following have been harvested:
rapeseed – 38.2 thousand hectares (100% of the forecast). Threshed 111.4 thousand tons, with an average yield of 29.2 c/ha;
sunflower – 145.4 thousand hectares (97.5% of the forecast), threshed 325.8 thousand tons, with an average yield of 22.4 c/ha;
soybeans – 181.6 thousand hectares (98.9% of the forecast), threshed 428.6 thousand tons, yield 23.6 c/ha;
sugar beets – 4.8 thousand hectares (100.0% of the forecast), the gross harvest is 237.6 thousand tons of sweet roots, with an average yield of 495.0 c/ha.
Potatoes and vegetables were harvested on an area of 117.2 thousand hectares (100% of the forecast), the gross production is 2267.1 thousand tons, with a yield of 193.4 c/ha.
Zhytomyr region has been leading the country for several years in terms of areas:
hops – 1st place;
oats and buckwheat – 2nd;
oil flax and potatoes – 3rd;
rye and soybeans – 4th.
In addition, according to the operational data, in all categories of farms in the region, winter grain crops were sown on an area of 144.6 thousand hectares, which is 96% of the planned area.
In particular, the following were sown:
wheat – 129.0 thousand hectares;
barley – 9.2 thousand hectares;
rye – 6.4 thousand hectares.
Also, winter rapeseed was sown on an area of 36.5 thousand hectares, which is 100% of the forecast.
The total sown area of winter crops for the 2026 harvest will be 181.1 thousand hectares, which is 5.4 thousand hectares less than last year.
