The use of quality tools and aggregates for soil cultivation allows for precise adherence to agronomic terms. This is not only an effective way to combat weeds and control their spread, but also ensures moisture retention, improves root access to water and air, and enhances soil structure. As a result, the future harvest receives the maximum amount of nutrients and develops without obstacles, ultimately leading to an increase in both quantity and quality.

Understanding these fundamentals, the company BEDNAR offers innovative, high-tech solutions for soil cultivation that integrate perfectly with the basic principles of agriculture.
BEDNAR SWIFTERDISC – Disc Cultivators for All Occasions
The wide range of SWIFTERDISC disc cultivators from BEDNAR meets the needs of both large and small farms. These aggregates set new standards in the segment of machinery for post-harvest and pre-sowing soil preparation.
Currently, SWIFTERDISC cultivators are available with working widths ranging from 1.75 m to 18.4 m, allowing for efficient processing of large areas in a short time. Due to their design features, these aggregates provide quality soil cultivation at depths ranging from 2 to 14 cm. This makes them effective for both quick stubble cultivation and pre-sowing soil preparation, which is crucial for achieving friendly and uniform plant emergence.
It is also worth noting the versatility and durability of these aggregates. Depending on farmers’ preferences, the aggregates can be equipped with 520 mm or 560 mm diameter discs. These discs are paired on a frame, meaning one support for two discs (TWIN-DISC mounting system), ensuring quality shredding and incorporation of crop residues, preventing clogging.
A key feature of SWIFTERDISC is the integrated transport axle located in front of the rear wheels. This design provides optimal weight distribution and high stability during operation, even at high speeds, minimizing vibrations and improving processing quality. Thanks to this construction, the aggregate can easily be transported on public roads. Interestingly, even the widest aggregates have a transport width of 3.0 m.
With their productivity, reliability, and versatility, SWIFTERDISC cultivators help farmers efficiently save time and resources, optimize field work, and enhance overall farm efficiency. This was confirmed by the “Niva” Agricultural Company (part of the “Uspikh” LLC structure), which managed to cultivate approximately 10,000 hectares in just one and a half years since acquiring the SWIFTERDISC aggregate.
Sergiy Bobyr, Chief Engineer at “Niva” Agricultural Company
“In addition to the ‘Niva’ Agricultural Company, I am responsible for the technical fleet of several other enterprises within the ‘Uspikh’ LLC structure. Overall, the group of enterprises I oversee cultivates over 12,000 hectares.
Before purchasing this cultivator, I collected feedback from fellow farmers and familiarized myself with the operation of a similar machine in a neighboring farm. Understanding the specifics of our enterprise, I knew we needed a reliable, simple, and easy-to-use machine. Today, this machine can be attached to one tractor one day and another the next. There is no attachment to a single operator or tractor. And, as the saying goes, ‘no one was planning to pamper it.’ It did not end up in the hands that would take care of it.
Currently, the aggregate has cultivated approximately 10,000 hectares, and I must note that we purchased it just 1.5 years ago. Today, its condition is very good considering the area it has worked on. Yes, it’s time to replace the discs, but in all other technical aspects, it is perfect. Depending on which tractor is available and where the work is taking place, the 8-meter aggregate is used with Massey Ferguson 8737, John Deere 8335R, or Case IH Magnum 340 tractors. They all have an engine power of around 340 hp.”
The aggregate is very fast and, consequently, highly productive. On good fields, its productivity reaches at least 150 hectares per shift.
The cultivation depth depends on the agronomist’s needs. On average, it is 8 cm, but if necessary, we can maximize its capabilities, reaching 12-14 cm.
The configuration of our SWIFTERDISC XO 8000 F includes a specialized chopping roller, which in combination with A-discs creates a ‘picture’ in the field in one pass, regardless of the previous cultivator or the presence of crop residues on the field surface: wheat stubble, rapeseed, sunflower, and even corn, it can handle it all.
It is also worth noting the work of the A-discs. Of course, I am not an agronomist, but even to the naked eye, it is clear that these discs cut plant residues better and mix them with the soil. Also, when working on compacted and dried-out soils, the aggregate ‘tears’ much smaller clods.
We purchased it from AGRORESURS, the official dealer of BEDNAR equipment in our region, with whom we have been cooperating closely for quite some time. We have no complaints about them; the company listens to our needs and always offers the best solutions and cooperation terms. We are completely satisfied with the machine’s performance, quality, and durability. By the way, we also have four other units of equipment from this manufacturer on our farm: three BEDNAR SWIFTER compactors with working widths of 10 (two units) and 6 meters, and the TERRALAND deep cultivator.
Overall, the equipment is reliable. I am more than satisfied with its performance and durability.
BEDNAR ACTROS RO – Quality Soil Preparation for Rapeseed with Minimal Moisture Loss
During the hot period of soil preparation for sowing rapeseed, every minute counts. The disc-hoe cultivators ACTROS from BEDNAR are an indispensable solution. Their main purpose is intensive soil cultivation in one pass. ACTROS provides an excellent combination of disc sections and share sections on a single frame. This allows it to cut and mix a large amount of crop residues and organic matter with the soil in one pass. The main working elements of the aggregate are large diameter discs of 690 × 6 mm, which are the largest on the market among similar aggregates, and a powerful block with soil cultivation shares. The distance between the discs is 42.5 cm, ensuring uninterrupted operation with high productivity at depths of up to 18 cm. The share section provides soil cultivation up to a depth of 35 cm.
Oleksiy Tkachenko, Director of the “Tkachenko O.O.” Farm, has been using the ACTROS RO 4000 R for three years and claims that the aggregate solves not only economic but also agronomic issues.
“We cultivate about 1000 hectares. The main crops are rapeseed, wheat, peas, corn, soybeans, and sunflowers. We work within the minimum soil cultivation technology using combined approaches. In particular, for rapeseed, we carry out deep, up to 30-35 cm, soil cultivation. At the same time, we try to leave as many crop residues on the field surface as possible. In our region, this is one of the best options.
We purchased the ACTROS from BEDNAR specifically for soil preparation for rapeseed. As you know, in recent years there has been a severe lack of moisture in the soil during this period, and it is essential to cultivate it properly for this crop. Of course, the question arises, how to carry out this work with maximum efficiency and minimal costs? The use of a standard set of equipment – disc harrows, plows, compactors, rollers – is a waste of money, time, and equipment resources.
Each pass of the aggregate through the field is a loss of valuable moisture, unnecessary equipment passes, and tons of wasted diesel fuel. Also, from the moment the field is prepared for rapeseed until sowing, it stands black under the influence of the scorching sun, which is not very beneficial for the soil biota’s health. In turn, crop residues left on the surface or in the upper soil layer protect the soil from the sun’s influence, allowing life in it to continue.
Therefore, the BEDNAR ACTROS allowed us to solve not only economic but also agronomic issues.
The annual workload for this aggregate is about 300 hectares. It is aggregated with a New Holland T8.410 tractor. When working to a depth of 30 cm, the fuel consumption is about 28 liters per hectare. At first glance, this is quite a high indicator for working at such a depth, but considering that the aggregate allows ‘skipping’ three operations in the technological chain, eliminates the need to purchase and maintain additional equipment, and optimizes labor costs for machine operators – the operational economy of this machine is quite good,” says the manager.
Among the key features of the aggregate, the manager highlights the ease of adjustment and the high reliability of the machine.
“We purchased the aggregate three years ago from AGRORESURS, the Sumy branch. They are very responsible guys. They understand the equipment and the needs of farmers. During this time, it has cultivated about a thousand hectares. There have been no breakdowns, and the working elements have not been replaced,” the manager notes.
By the way, this year, BEDNAR introduced the updated ACTROS RO, which is not just a modernized aggregate but the next stage in the development of the concept of multifunctional BEDNAR cultivators for post-harvest and primary soil cultivation.
Among the key features of ACTROS are:
– a completely new, reinforced frame – for even greater durability in field conditions and the ability to install a bunker for localized fertilizer application (bunker volume – 2800 l);
– cast disc brackets and an individual stand for each disc – ensuring the structure’s durability;
– AUTO-RESET protection of working stands with a triggering force of 660 kg – a new horizontal system for intensive, reliable, and high-quality cultivation;
– hydraulic depth adjustment with the possibility of automatic synchronization of shares and discs;
– integrated transport axle – allowing work without rollers in wet conditions.
The new BEDNAR ACTROS is the answer to modern challenges in agriculture, including moisture deficits, shortened cultivation terms, and the need to reduce the number of equipment passes through the field. By combining deep tillage, intensive mixing of residues, and precise fertilizer application, this aggregate will become a reliable base machine in farms that value efficiency, durability, and modern technologies.
