At the AGRO Field Days in Kirovohrad region, which took place on June 3-4, BEDNAR company, together with the official dealer Agroresource, presented to Ukrainian farmers the trailed disc harrow BEDNAR GALAXY for the first time. The presentation of this new model for the Ukrainian market was one of the important events of the BEDNAR exhibition, as the implement meets the practical needs of farms in quality leveling, clod crushing, and soil compaction.

The format of the Field Days allowed farmers not only to see the implement up close but also to evaluate its design, key features, and understand in which technological operations GALAXY can be most effective. For farms operating in different soil and climatic conditions, trailed disc harrows remain an important element of the soil cultivation system – especially when there is a need to quickly prepare a level field surface, retain moisture, and create better conditions for further operations.
BEDNAR GALAXY GE is a trailed Cambridge disc harrow designed for uniform leveling of the soil surface, clod crushing, and compaction. The implement helps to create a quality field surface after primary or pre-sowing tillage, and also promotes better soil contact with seeds after sowing. This is particularly important for small-seeded crops, where the uniformity of the seedbed and stable moisture in the topsoil directly affect the quality of emergence.
One of the key advantages of GALAXY is its low center of gravity design and high throughput capacity. This allows the implement to work stably in the field, accurately copy the terrain, and ensure even pressure of the working sections on the soil. For farmers, this means a predictable result across the entire working width – without excessive compaction in some areas and insufficient work in others.
An important design feature is the hydraulic pressure on the working sections. The individual sections of the disc harrow have overlap and independently copy the field surface, ensuring consistent work quality even on uneven terrain. This solution is particularly relevant for large areas, where the stability of cultivation across the entire implement width directly affects the productivity and quality of subsequent technological operations.
GALAXY discs are equipped with high-quality cast rings designed for intensive work in challenging conditions. These working elements effectively crush clods, compact the topsoil, and withstand significant loads, especially in stony fields. Additionally, BEDNAR applies a solution with a spring between the disc harrow segments, which prevents play between the rings and reduces the need for maintenance after extensive use.
To improve leveling quality, the implement can be equipped with a front hydraulic leveling bar Crushbar. It helps break up rough furrows, level irregularities, and prepare the field for the effective operation of the disc harrow sections. The operator can adjust the intensity of the bar’s work directly from the tractor cab, adapting the implement to specific field conditions.
Another practical option is the possibility of installing the ALFA microgranulator. This allows GALAXY not only to level and compact the soil but also to simultaneously sow small-seeded crops, cover crops, or apply microgranules. For farms, this opens up the opportunity to combine two operations in one pass, save time, fuel, and reduce the number of machinery passes in the field.
The GALAXY model range includes implements with working widths of 6.3 m, 8.3 m, and 12.3 meters, allowing for solutions for both medium-sized farms and large agricultural enterprises. The three-section models are oriented towards compactness and efficiency, while the five-section GALAXY GE 12300 with a 12.3 m working width ensures high productivity and quality terrain copying on large areas.
The introduction of BEDNAR GALAXY to the Ukrainian market is a logical continuation of expanding the BEDNAR machinery lineup for comprehensive soil cultivation. For BEDNAR and the dealer Agroresource, the first presentation of GALAXY at AGRO Field Days in Kirovohrad region was an opportunity to show farmers another practical solution for improving the quality of field work.
