22.5 tons of coconut flakes arrived in Kharkiv from Indonesia without a phytosanitary certificate

On January 22, 2026, at the customs post “Barabashovo” in Kharkiv, state phytosanitary inspectors of the State Consumer Protection Service detained 22.5 tons of imported coconut nuts (flakes) that arrived from the Republic of Indonesia without the mandatory phytosanitary certificate, as reported by agronews.ua.

State phytosanitary inspectors of the phytosanitary measures department at the border of the Phytosanitary Safety and Control Administration in Plant Production of the Main Department of the State Consumer Protection Service in the Kharkiv region on January 22, 2026, at the customs post “Barabashovo” during the phytosanitary control of imported cargo detained regulated objects – coconut nuts (flakes) (0801) – in the amount of 22.5 tons.

The cargo arrived from the Republic of Indonesia without a phytosanitary certificate, thus violating the requirements of the International Standard for Phytosanitary Measures No. 12 “Guidelines for Phytosanitary Certificates.”

The detained cargo underwent enhanced phytosanitary control. Based on the identified violation, a notification was drawn up.
