It is noted that the fish stocking material was grown and delivered from the state enterprise “Irkliivsky fish breeding plant for herbivorous fish.”

The stocking of aquatic resources was carried out under the control of a commission consisting of representatives of the Poltava Fisheries Protection Patrol of the State Fisheries Agency.

Carp is a natural filter feeder that feeds on phytoplankton and thus helps to control water “blooms” caused by excessive algae growth.

One white carp weighing 250 g can filter up to 32 liters of water per hour, consuming about 1300 mg of algae. The absence of food competition from other fish species allows for stocking water bodies with carp in large quantities without harm to the ichthyofauna.
